A Tiverton Youth Soccer player, 10 year old Megan Cordeiro, was recently diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Megan has been playing soccer for Tiverton since she was four years old. She is also a member of the Nor’easter/Stingers soccer club. She is known to a number of players in Bristol for her big smile and love of soccer. Megan is currently undergoing intense chemotherapy at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and will likely require long-term medical treatment.
In an outstanding show of support and sportsmanship, over 100 BYSA players and coaches signed a ball and T-shirt for Megan to help cheer her up during her treatment.
The BYSA Board also unanimously voted to donate $100 towards Megan's recovery.
Bristol Youth Soccer whole heartedly wishes Megan a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing her again on the soccer field as soon possible.
If you would like to send a donation please forward to, Tiverton Youth Soccer, PO Box 434, Tiverton, RI 02878.
All checks should be made payable to TYS and 'The Megan Fund' must be noted on the memo line.
