BYSA Code of Conduct

Written by: The President
Friday, April 2, 2010

The BYSA Executive Board has unanimously voted to introduce a Code of Conduct which will come into effect for all competitive teams participating in the 2010 Spring Super Liga & Maple divisions.
The Code can be found at the following link and further down this article.

The Board has also decreed that each player is to have a completed signed copy from both parents / guardians and is to be submitted via the team coach(es) to the Registrar prior to the issue of Spring player cards.

A completed form is required for each player so if there are multiple siblings on differing teams we will need one form for each player.

Coaches will receive team packages with a copy of the code to be read and signed by parents/guardians accordingly.

BYSA has grown immensely over the past few years and we have established ourselves as an excellent club run which is run by an outstanding group of volunteers.

This is something that as board members, coaches and parents we can all be justifiably proud of.

Let's please keep it that way and ensure that we all adhere to the new policy.
Stu Gaskell
BYSA President

I will not force my child to participate in soccer.

I will remember that my child participates in soccer to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.

I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, referees, assistant referees and spectators at every game and practice.

I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any referee, assistant referee, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.

I will not encourage any behavior or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the players, coaching staff or officials.

I will teach my child to play by the laws of the game and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence
