The following email was sent to all U12/14 Recreational/Competitive players.
During a Bristol Youth Soccer Board Meeting held Tuesday July 17th it was decided to combine the U12 and U14 age groups as we have done in the recent past. This format allows BYSA to form a sufficient amount of teams to play each other during the forthcoming Fall season.
Additionally, during earlier meetings a decision was made to enter travel teams in the Fall Super Liga. This year we will have 2 x U12 Girls teams, 1 x U12 Boys, 1 x U14 Girls and 1 x U14 Boys. The players that have been chosen for Fall Competitive have also been included in the
rosters for Fall Recreational. The Board and the coaching staffs are strongly encouraging all travel players to fully participate in the Recreational Program.
Without a strong showing of Competitive players in the Recreational games, we will not have enough players in these age groups. If the lack of Competitive players playing Recreational does cause a problem with the games, BYSA will have to strongly consider eliminating Competitive teams in future Fall seasons.
We believe that the combination of age groups and the blending of competitive players into the recreational program will enhance the game experience for all players. While we are eager to see these groups united for great games, we understand that some parents may be concerned about the grouping. Should you now wish to withdraw your child's registration based on the above please contact Stu Gaskell at firstname.lastname@example.org soonest so that you can receive a full refund of your registration fee.
Thanks for your continued support to BYSA.
