The Bristol Huskies captured the Teamworks Girls U-10 A Championship on January 6.

The Huskies beat Tidal Wave 1-0 in the Semi-Final game behind stingy defense.  Goalie Samantha Tyler and defensive rotation of Alex Pires, Lexi Winnes, Caleigh Duffy, Kaitlyn Costa, and Hannah Klein shut out Tidal Wave.  The offense maintained a balanced attack led by Chrissy Conley, Carlie Rochefort and Olivia Cairrao.  Several scoring opportunities were squandered until Carlie Rochefort was able to score from the right wing inside the left post of the goal.

In the Finals, the Huskies faced a determined Stingers team.  Bristol scored first on a goal from Lexi Winnes.  The offensive attack of Kaitlyn Costa, Chrissy Conley, Samantha Tyler, Lexi Winnes and Olivia Cairrao found scoring opportunities difficult as the Stingers often had five players in the defensive zone.  Goalie Madeline Lombardo and a defensive rotation of Alex Pires, Caleigh Duffy, Kate Bjerregaard were able to keep the Stingers off the scoreboard until about two minutes left in the half.  The Stingers scored a breakaway goal to tie the score at one just before the half.

The Huskies' defense was stifling in the second half.  Goalie Lexi Winnes and Defense of Kaitlyn Costa, Caleigh Duffy, Alex Pires and Madeline Lombardo kept the Stingers off the scoreboard until the Huskies were finally able score on a pass from Carlie Rochefort that found Hannah Klein open at the top of the goalie box.  Hannah delivered a strong shot before the goalie could turn for the game winner.  The dominating Huskies' defense made sure that the goal was enough to win the game.
